Volkwagen India commenced production of one of their most premium luxury sedans, the Volkswagen Passat at their Aurangabad facility.
The new Passat will be based on Volkswagen’s new efficient MQB platform developed solely for Volkswagen vehicles in India. The sleek and suave design of the Passat is sure to appeal much more to the Indian customers and is poised to become the undisputed leader in the luxury sedan segment. The Passat will probably be launched later this year, however, the official launch date has not been confirmed yet.

The Passat will redefine luxury in the sedan segment, offering a premium driving experience and bringing the legacy of the Volkswagen brand to life. Initially, the Passat will be available with a 2.0 Liter TDI, 177 HP engine mated to a 6-Speed Dual-Clutch DSG Automatic gearbox offering a perfect blend of efficiency, performance, luxury and most importantly, the safety.
Commenting on the beginning of production, Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. Said that they are joyous to bring back their most successful premium luxury sedan to the Indian market.
With the introduction of the new Passat, their vehicle range is extended, comprising of a wide variety of products beginning from a hatchback to a luxury sedans. The Passat’s timeless design exudes style, exemplary performance, and is symbolic of a luxurious lifestyle.
