In terms of design, the Tata Nexon will definitely be a one of its kind. As I said earlier, the Nexon will be one of a kind. But with availability of multiple drive modes, it becomes a first ever in the segment to sport this unique feature. However, this feature is normally available in either high-end vehicles or another segment. The multiple drive modes can be engaged through a rotary knob which features modes such as City, Sport and Eco. The Nexon will be powered by a 1.5 Liter turbocharged Diesel engine and a 1.2 Liter turbocharged Petrol engine.

Coming to the drive-train, the 1.5 Liter turbocharged Diesel motor offered will be the most powerful one in this segment. It generates 108 Bhp at 3,750 Rpm and 260 Nm or peak torque from 1,500 Rpm to 2,750 Rpm. On the other hand, the 1.2-litre turbocharged Petrol motor churns out 108 Bhp at 5,000 Rpm and 170 Nm of peak torque between 2,000 Rpm and 4,000 Rpm. Both these engines will come with a 6-speed manual transmission named as the Synchromesh Transmission by Tata and will also have an Overdrive feature. But sadly, there will not be an automatic variant on offer at the time of launch.
